Our CEO and Founder John Martinez was part of a Workforce & Wellness Webinar organised by the Events Industry Council titled “Readying our workforce for building back better”. The webinar took place on Thursday, 29th July 2021.

The EIC is the global voice of the business events industry, representing more than 30 organisations and bringing together over 103,500 individuals and 19,500 firms and properties involved in the events industry.

The webinar was attended by more 760 participants from 30 countries, and John was part of a panel of industry heavyweights, including Amanda Armstrong, Assistant Vice President at Enterprise Holdings, Inc, Cleo Battle, President and CEO of Louisville Tourism, and Johnnie White, CEO and Executive Vice President of the American Society of Appraisers. 

The topics discussed included best practices for communication during these times, what it takes to be an empathetic leader, and how to promote health and wellness by developing flexible work environments and employee assistance programmes.

At Shocklogic, we are big believers in the importance of our employees’ wellbeing. During the webinar, John spoke about our values ‘360 degrees of care’ and ‘Be kinder than necessary’, saying “Taking care of our people has never been an afterthought. There’s no business without your team.” 

We incorporate wellness into the DNA of our organisation, from weekly meditation sessions and daily breathing exercises led by one of our team members to individual counselling sessions and a focus on support and recognition for each member of our team.
